the TERRACROSS concept turns a bugatti chiron into a futuristic 4×4

Shenzhen-based industrial designer Rafal Czanecki has transformed an elegant Bugatti sports car made of cast iron into a rugged off-road vehicle. The futuristic concept is called TERRACROSS and presents itself in an alternative reality. The modified car includes redesigned wheels, headlights and taillights, as well as additional elements around the vehicle that turn it into a 4×4.

The concept is a mix of two very different types of vehicles: a high performance supercar and a rugged 4×4. The car industry is changing, as luxury brands launch SUVs and explore new shapes and styles that often create surprising effects, explains rafal czaniecki.

One of the main design ideas is a 3D-printed hexagonal metal skeleton embedded in transparent resin wheel housings. This pattern can be found everywhere in the car: the roof load, the tyre profile, the headlights and the rear lights all have the same hexagonal shape. The 3D printed metal edge is meant to demonstrate the possibilities this technology can offer.

The concept is the result of experimenting and having fun with 3D modeling, branding and graphic design during long weekends and pandemic evenings, the designer explains.
